Contractors Business Insurance
What would happen if someone you hired to work on your home accidentally damaged your property or the property of one of your neighbours? Or if someone was injured as a result of construction work being done on your property?
In situations like these, the actions of your contractor could end up costing you money. That is why any contractor you hire to work on your home should have adequate public liability and property damage insurance to protect you in the event they cause any property damage or injury to you or a third party.
While your homeowners insurance may provide you with some protection against liability or property damage, contractors should have their own insurance coverage. And they should provide you with a Certificate of Insurance as part of the contract -proof that coverage is in place.
